Implementation Of The National Action Plan For Protection Of Montagu's Harrier EEA GRANTS

The Minister of Climate and the Environment, with the support of the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management, as the Operator of the Environment, Energy and Climate Change Program, informs about the conclusion of a contract for co-financing the project entitled “Implementation of the National Action Plan for Protection of Montagu's harrier”.

The project beneficiary is Stork Nature Society (Towarzystwo Przyrodnicze Bocian).

The project received funding in the call for proposals Activities related to the protection of the environment and ecosystems carried out by the NGOs under the Environment, Energy and Climate Change Program in the area of Natural environment and ecosystems.

The total cost of the project is approximately EUR 200 thousand  (approximately 860 thousand ) and the requested amount of co-financing is approximately EUR 180 thousand (PLN 770 thousand). It is financed in 85% from the funds of the Environment, Energy and Climate Change Program under the EEA Grants.

The aim of the project will be the continuation of the active protection of the brood of the Montagu's harrier. The task will be implemented in the years 2021-2022 in 16 poviats in 5 voivodships, in areas with a high density of pairs nesting in the agricultural landscape in agricultural crops.

In addition, as part of the project, several information and educational activities have been planned, including broadcasting a short film / spot on the YouTube channel with the meadow harrier as the main character. The aim of the film will be increasing of public awareness of the Montagu's harrier and the impact of agriculture on biodiversity.
