Improvement of energy efficiency in the building of the high school in Piastów

Environment Energy and Climate Change Programme MF EOG #ENERGY

The Minister of Climate and Environment, with the support of the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management as the Operator of the Environment, Energy and Climate Change Programme, informs about the conclusion of an agreement for co-financing the Improvement of energy efficiency in the building of the high school in Piastów project.

The beneficiary of the project is Piastów Town.

About the project

The project received funding in the call for proposals for Improvement of energy efficiency in school buildings under the Environment, Energy and Climate Change Programme, in the area of Renewable energy, energy efficiency, and energy security.

It is financed 70% from the Environment, Energy and Climate Change Programme funds, of which 85% comes from the Financial Mechanism of the European Economic Area (EEA FM) and 15% from the state budget.

The project’s total cost is PLN 5 million (EUR 1.2 million), and the grant awarded is PLN 3.5 million (EUR 0.8 million).

Termomodernization

The project entails a comprehensive thermal upgrade of the Secondary School building situated at 2A 11 Listopada Street in Piastów. The project will include the replacement of a gas boiler and the installation of two ground-source heat pumps. It is planned to install a supply and exhaust ventilation system with recuperation. The exterior doors and windows will be replaced, the non-ventilated roof and the exterior walls of the building will be insulated. The installation of photovoltaic panels with an area of 261 m2 will provide energy production of 39.6 kW.

The expected effects

Following the implementation of the project Improvement of energy efficiency in the building of the high school in Piastów, the demand for fossil fuels, carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions and consumption of energy from non-renewable sources will decrease.

Implementation period

The contract for co-financing the project was concluded in March 2023 and the planned completion date is April 2024.
