Improvement of energy efficiency in the Municipality of the Kobylnica by means of thermal modernization of four buildings of the Primary School in Kobylnica
The Minister of Climate and Environment, supported by the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management (NFEP&WM), as the Operator of the Environment, Energy and Climate Change Programme, informs of the conclusion of the agreement on co-financing the project entitled „Improvement of energy efficiency in the Municipality of the Kobylnica by means of thermal modernization of four buildings of the Primary School in Kobylnica".
The project is conducted by the Kobylnica Commune.
About the project
The project obtain co-financing in the call for proposals Improved energy efficiency in school buildings under the Environment, Energy and Climate Change Programme in the area of Improving energy efficiency and energy security.
The project is co-financed in 70% by the Environment, Energy and Climate Change Programme of the European Economic] Area Financial Mechanism (of which 85% comes from the EEA Financial Mechanism and 15% from the national budget).
The total cost of the project is EUR 1,9 million, of which the maximum amount of co-financing is over EUR 1,3 million.
Improving energy efficiency contributes to increasing energy security and reduces the negative impact of energy on the environment. Counteracting the negative effects of climate change is one of the EU's goals.
The project is the answer to these problems. Currently, 4 buildings of the Primary School in Kobylnica require urgent measures in the field of thermal modernization, therefore the implementation of the project will ultimately contribute to reducing energy consumption.
As part of the project, a deep thermal modernization of 4 buildings of the Primary School in Kobylnica will be performed, consisting of: insulation of external partitions, replacement of windows and external doors, reconstruction of the gas system with heat source replacement with the use of ground heat pumps, replacement of internal lighting and implementation of a photovoltaic installation.
Effects:
- reduction of energy consumption over 77%,
- reduction of costs of heating hot water and ventilation of the school,
- actual reduction of CO2 emissions, approx. 348,4 tons of CO2/year.
Partnership
The partnership was established with Fredrikstad Commune. Establishing cooperation is aimed at strengthening the substantive potential of the Kobylnica and promotion of information about institutions operating in the Donor States. Partner's participation will significantly contribute to increasing the impact of the project. The project will contribute not only to the exchange of experiences, but also to establishing lasting contacts between representatives of the authorities and organizations from the Polish and Norwegian sides. Partner's participation in the project is the added value of the project.
Implementation period
The agreement for the project's co-financing was signed in January 2022 and the planned completion date is April 2024.
