Inauguration of the predefined project dedicated to the geothermal energy

The opening event already on February 9, 2021
The opening event of the project “Capacity Building of the Key Stakeholders in the Area of Geothermal Energy” realised within the “Energy, Environment, Climate Change” Programme” carried out within EEA FM will take place on the 9th of February 2021 on 2:00 PM. The event is organized by the Mineral and Energy Economy Institute of the Polish Academy of Sciences and National Energy of Iceland (Orkustofnun).
The predefined project agreement had been signed in December 2020. The applicant, Mineral and Energy Economy Research Institute of the Polish Academy of Science ( MEERI PAS) is realising the project in the partnership with National Energy Authority of Iceland - Orkustofnun ( OS).
The opening event is to take place in a few days. The agenda of the meeting covers the objectives of the Programme and main activities carried out within the project such as training activities, study visits, information campaigns. The presentations dedicated to the ongoing calls in the area of geothermal energy are predicted.
The Ministry of Climate and Environment, National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management as well as the applicant together with its partner, Orkustofnun and representatives of Iceland are the main speakers in the opening event.
The meeting is organised online via Zoom Platform. It will be held both in English and Polish with simultaneous translation provided. All application should be send to the following e-mail address: sekretariat@min-pan.krakow.pl. The participation in the event is costless.
The project is dedicated to Polish and Icelandic organisations. Main addressees of the project are the representatives of national administration, municipal authorities, private companies engaged in geothermal energy activities, beneficiaries of the funds supporting the development of geothermal energy in Poland, the research institutes, consultants and other entities engaged in geothermal energy.
The main objective of the project is increase the knowledge and raise awareness of key stakeholders in Poland on geothermal energy as a source prospective for low-emission heating and mitigating climate changes.
All predefined projects carried out within the “Environment, Energy and Climate Change” Programme are financed in 100% by EEA FM. The total amount dedicated to the “Capacity Building of the Key Stakeholders in the Area of Geothermal Energy” project is EUR 900 000.
