The Operator of Environment, Energy and Climate Change Program, after receiving an opinion from the Project Selection Committee, decided not to award funding for projects submitted in the Construction of an installation for the production of fuel from agricultural and forest biomass in the form of pellets call.

The Call for Proposals was a pilot and had an innovative approach, divided into two stages. The call for proposals aimed at improving energy security and reducing energy poverty in municipalities by using local biomass to produce fuel for energy-poor households and replacing the social assistance offered to these households in the form of coal fuel with pellet fuel derived from locally available agricultural and forest biomass.

The analysis of applications and socio-economic risks associated with the implementation of this type of projects resulted in the decision not to grant funding and the reallocation of these funds to competitions in which projects were characterized by high economic efficiency while pursuing common social and environmental objectives.

Applicants who have submitted their applications for funding in this competition will receive from NFEP&WM the information with the justification of the decision taken by the Programme Operator.
