Grodzisk Mazowiecki City - Investments in green and blue infrastructure in Grodzisk Mazowiecki
The Minister of Climate and Environment, supported by the National Fund for Environmental protection and Water management (NFEP&WM), as the Operator of the Environment, Energy and Climate Change Programme, informs of the conclusion of the agreement on co-financing Investments in green and blue infrastructure in Grodzisk Mazowiecki project.

About the project
The project obtain co-financing in the call for proposals The implementation of green and blue infrastructure in cities under the Environment, Energy and Climate Change Programme in Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation Area.
The project is co-financed in 85% by the Environment, Energy and Climate Change Program of the European Economic Area Financial Mechanism (of which 85% comes from the EEA Financial Mechanism and 15% from the national budget).
The total cost of the project is EUR 1,3 million, of which the maximum amount of co-financing is over EUR 1,1 million.
Investments in green and blue infrastructure in Grodzisk Mazowiecki is a project involving adaptation and mitigation measures for the urban space of Grodzisk Mazowiecki, which will allow it to better adapt to climate change.
It is planned to carry out works related to green and blue infrastructure, such as replacing pavement with permeable pavement, creating a retention basin, plantings with irrigation systems, strengthening biodiversity by creating flower meadows and places for insects to grow.
The activities will improve the degree of adaptation of Grodzisk Mazowiecki's infrastructure to climatic conditions and thus enable it to increase its capacity to, among other things, improve air quality or water retention, reduce pollution, increase the area of green spaces, develop retention capacities, eliminate "urban heat islands", increase biodiversity, as well as increase public awareness and the ability of residents to adapt to climate change.
Education and information activities are also an important element of the project, the aim of which will be to raise the public's environmental awareness and increase their knowledge of climate change. It is planned to conduct campaigns in the media and on the Internet, to activate residents through participation in workshops, events, competitions training and scientific conferences. The project also plans to implement a series of expert training sessions, where participants will gain the knowledge to act as local eco-educators and initiators of further changes towards sustainable development of the city.
Partnership
The project is conducted with the Norwegian partner - Intbau Norway. The Partner will carry out workshops for municipal office employees and local experts.
Implementation period
The agreement for the project's co-financing was signed in November 2021. The planned completion date is April, 2024.
