LeadAIR is a programme aiming to help cities improve the quality of air. During the workshops and trainings, the participants will learn how to plan and carry out anti-smog programmes and how to effectively obtain funding for local transformation.

The key issues of the modern world concentrate in cities. We must prepare the proper tools to support the local transformation and the development of renewable energy sources. The LeadAir programme inaugurated today will aim to improve urban air quality and the initiative remains in line with the Urban Agenda announced last week by the Ministry of Climate - stressed the Minister of Climate Michał Kurtyka.

A debate “Clean Air - Common Challenge” was held during the inauguration of the programme with the participation of the Deputy Minister Ireneusz Zyska.

Air quality is an issue beyond borders, as we all breathe the same air, without exceptions. We may argue about the specific directions. My goal as the Government Plenipotentiary for Renewable Energy Sources is to carry out measures involving the development of Renewable Energy Sources in a manner which ensures their effectiveness and factual impact on air quality - stated the Deputy Minister Ireneusz Zyska.

During the debate, the participants underlined the importance of government programmes for protecting air quality. The Clean Air programme is particularly important as over 1,6 billion PLN has been allocated towards the replacement of boilers and thermo-modernisation of single-family buildings.
