About the project
The project received funding in the call for proposals for Activities related to the protection of the environment and ecosystems carried out by the NGOs under the Environment, Energy and Climate Change Programme, in the area of Environmental status of ecosystems improved.
The total cost is approximately EUR 190 thousand (PLN 820 thousand) and the requested amount of funding is approximately EUR 170 thousand (PLN 730 thousand).
It is co-financed in 90% by the Environment, Energy and Climate Change Programme of the European Economic Area Financial Mechanism (of which 85% comes from the EEA Financial Mechanism and 15% from the national budget).
The project aims to protect the biodiversity of the Great Mazurian Lakes Region by raising public awareness of the ecosystems and the services they provide. An important element of the project is an app that will replace a guidebook - thanks to GPS location, users will receive an interactive notifications about the particular place in the Great Masurian Lakes Region. The app will combine ecosystem care, education and the needs of local residents and tourists.
Partnership
The project is conducted with the Ann Eileen Lennert Consultancy and Masurian Landscape Park, University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn, Giżycko City and Gremi Media.
Implementation period
The agreement for the project's co-financing was signed on 1st December 2021 and the planned completion date is by April 2024.
