Thermal modernization of 6 selected educational buildings in the Capital City of Warsaw - scope 2

Environment Energy and Climate Change Programme MF EOG #ENERGY

The Minister of Climate and Environment with the support of the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management as the Operator of the Environment, Energy and Climate Change Programme informs of the conclusion of an agreement for co-financing “Thermal modernization of 6 selected educational buildings in the Capital City of Warsaw - scope 2” project.

The beneficiary of the project is the Capital City of Warsaw.

About the project

The project received funding in the call for proposals Improvement energy efficiency in school buildings under the Environment, Energy and Climate Change Program, in the area of Renewable energy, energy efficiency, energy security.

It is financed in 70% from the funds of the Environment, Energy and Climate Change Programme, of which 85% comes from the Financial Mechanism of the European Economic Area (EEA FM) and 15% from the state budget.

The total cost of the project is approximately PLN 13,6 mln (EUR 3,1 mln), and the grant awarded is PLN 7,4 mln (EUR 1,7 mln).

These funds will be used for activities related to improvement of energy efficiency in selected primary and secondary school facilities located in the Capital City of Warsaw and conducting an information campaign and educational activities related to the project.

Activities related to thermal modernization will cover 5 school buildings in the city of Warsaw.

The improvement of the energy efficiency of these schools will be achieved through various types of modernization activities, such as insulation of external walls, ceilings, flat roofs, replacement of windows and doors, modernization of the heating system, photovoltaic installation, modernization of the central heating installation along with the replacement of radiators and pipes.

The actions taken will contribute to:

  • reducing CO2 emissions;
  • reducing the energy intensity of buildings;
  • reduction of energy consumption;
  • increasing the energy standard of the building;
  • increasing public awareness.

Implementation period

The project co-financing agreement was concluded on March 28, 2023 and the planned completion date is April 30, 2023.
