Thermomodernization of buildings in primary schools in the Wojcieszków municipality

Environment Energy and Climate Change Programme MF EOG #ENERGY

The Minister of Climate and Environment, with the support of the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management as the Operator of the Environment, Energy and Climate Change Programme, informs about the conclusion of an agreement for co-financing the Thermomodernization of buildings in primary schools in the Wojcieszków municipality project.

The beneficiary of the project is Wojcieszków Municipality.

About the project

The project received funding in the call for proposals for Improvement of energy efficiency in school buildings under the Environment, Energy and Climate Change Programme, in the area of Renewable energy, energy efficiency, and energy security.

It is financed 70% from the Environment, Energy and Climate Change Programme funds, of which 85% comes from the Financial Mechanism of the European Economic Area (EEA FM) and 15% from the state budget.

The project’s total cost is PLN 5.4 million (EUR 1.2 million), and the grant awarded is PLN 3.8 million (EUR 0.9 million).

Termomodernization

The project provides comprehensive thermal modernization of four school buildings in Burzec, Wola Bystrzycka, Siedliska and Hermanów. Insulation works will be carried out on the plinth walls, attic ceiling, roof and floors. Windows and doors will be replaced. Heat sources for central heating will be modernized - heat pumps will be installed in all schools, and a pellet boiler will be additionally installed in schools in Burzec, Wola Bystrzycka and Siedliska. A photovoltaic installation will also be installed at each school.

The expected effects

As a result, the project will reduce the demand for fossil fuels, carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions and the consumption of energy from non-renewable sources, which will directly translate into:

  • increasing the use of renewable energy sources (RES),
  • reducing school operating costs,
  • improvement of air quality in the region,
  • improving the comfort of learning and working in the building, and
  • increasing public awareness of energy efficiency.

Implementation period

The contract for co-financing the project was concluded in January 2023 and the planned completion date is April 2024.
