Thermomodernization of the Primary School in Mucharz

Environment Energy and Climate Change Programme MF EOG #ENERGY

The Minister of Climate and Environment with the support of the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management as the Operator of the Environment, Energy and Climate Change Programme informs of the conclusion of an agreement for co-financing Thermomodernization of the Pope John Paul II Primary School in Mucharz, no. 238, on plots no. 782/66 and 782/21 along with the replacement of internal lighting fittings, replacement of the heat source with a gas boiler with a heat pump, replacement of heaters, installation of a photovoltaic installation project.

The beneficiary of the project is the Mucharz Commune.

About the project

The project received funding in the call for proposals Improvement of energy efficiency in school buildings under the Environment, Energy and Climate Change Program, in the area of Renewable energy, energy efficiency, energy security.

It is financed in 70% from the funds of the Environment, Energy and Climate Change Programme, of which 85% comes from the Financial Mechanism of the European Economic Area (EEA FM) and 15% from the state budget.

The total cost of the project is PLN 3,781,023.97 (EUR 876,068.48), and the grant awarded is PLN 2,366,842.86 (EUR 548,400.76).

The aim of the project is to improve energy efficiency and increase the production of energy from renewable sources by carrying out activities related to deep thermal modernization of buildings in the Mucharz Commune. Project activities will cover the building of the Primary School in Mucharz.

As part of the project, a photovoltaic installation with a capacity of 49.95 KWP will be installed, along with the replacement of internal lighting fixtures and modernization of the boiler room by replacing the heat source with a gas boiler with heat pumps and replacing the sanitary installation and radiators. The roof, ceiling, external walls of the building and floors will be insulated. Doors, windows and lighting will be replaced.

Project effects

Thanks to the implementation of the project, the energy efficiency of buildings will improve. The demand for non-renewable fuels and energy will decrease. Operating costs and air pollution will also decrease. An important effect of the project will be the improvement of social awareness regarding energy efficiency and the use of renewable energy sources - 27 thousand people will be affected by awareness-raising campaigns under the project.

Implementation period

The project co-financing agreement was concluded on January 18, 2022, and the planned completion date is December, 2023.

Events

Art competition "Clean commune - clean land". The main goals of the project are: shaping students' imagination, spreading the idea of a clean environment among the youngest inhabitants of the commune, community building and integration of children in the commune.
