The Minister of Climate and Environment, supported by the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management (NFEP&WM), as the Operator of the Environment, Energy and Climate Change Programme, informs of the conclusion of an agreement for co-financing The implementation of green-blue infrastructure elements in Twardogóra by public urban space management and educational activities project.

The beneficiary of the project is the Twardogóra Commune.

About the project

The project obtained co-financing in the call for proposals: The implementation of green and blue infrastructure in cities under the Environment, Energy and Climate Change Programme, in the area of climate change mitigation and adaptation.

The project is financed in 85% from the funds of the Environment, Energy and Climate Change Programme, of which 85% comes from the Financial Mechanism of the European Economic Area (EEA FM) and 15% from the state budget.

The aim of the project is to increase green space and better water management, and to raise awareness among residents of Oleśnicko County on climate change adaptation.

The project will include the greening of building walls, green traffic routes and parking lots, landscaped yards and slopes for increased retention, a sensory garden at the school, insect hotels, rainwater tanks, an electric car charging station, planting of appropriate greenery in the road strip, a fountain in the park, and a playground.

There will also be a media campaign and a series of educational activities to raise residents' awareness of climate change adaptation and mitigation.

The project is conducted with partner from Norway - Wyższą Szkołą Techniczną z Bryne w Norwegii – Hogskulen for Grøn Utvikling (The College for Green Development)

Implementation period

The contract for the project's co-financing was signed in December 2021 and the planned completion date is April 30, 2024.
