World Car Free Day 2023

Local communities are striving for the construction and development of bicycle infrastructure in their municipalities, and are implementing numerous information campaigns in this regard. Within Environment, Energy and Climate Change Programmme it was possible to obtain a grant for this purpose. On the occasion of Car Free Day, we introduce selected activities in which bicycle infrastructure component plays a special role:
- bicycle racks will be situated within projects of Polkowice municipality, Pobiedziska municipality and Leśna municipality;
- bike repair station will be installed by Leśna municipality;
- bicycle paths are planned to be built by Polkowice municipality and Wyszków municipality, in turn, the Czechowice – Dziedzice municipality will build a pedestrian and bicycle path along with road lighting. Mikołów municipality is also constructing such path, 3.5 km long, with trees, shrubs, wetlands and rain gardens as well as three shaded parking areas;
- bicycle sheds and bicycle parking will be installed by Wyszków municipality;
- introduction of an electric bicycle system together with charging points is planned under the project of Kłodzko municipality;
- beneficiaries will conduct also cycling campaigns (Polkowice municipality, Wyszków municipality, Pobiedziska municipality) and bicycle mobile field game (Mikołów municipality).
