The development, transformation and recovery of tourism in Europe after the global pandemic and the exchange of experiences were the topics discussed at a high-level meeting of EU tourism ministers, which was attended by the Secretary of State Andrzej Gut-Mostowy.

Only 140 days are left until the world's largest promotional and economic event – the World Expo 2020 in Dubai. The event was postponed for a year due to the coronavirus pandemic; however, the attendees will be able to meet in person. Poland currently starts the key phase of preparation, handled by the Polish Investment and Trade Agency.

Boosting cooperation in the field of tourism, safety procedures for travellers, tourist exchange in the coming season and opportunities of intensification were the main topics of the meeting of ministers responsible for tourism in both countries.

During his stay in the capital of Ukraine, Deputy Prime Minister Jarosław Gowin met Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, as well as Deputy Prime Minister Oleksii Reznikov and Minister of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture, Ihor Petrashko.

Due to the decreasing number of infections with COVID-19, the current restrictions will gradually be lifted from May 1 this year.

“The ability to effectively market innovation is and will be a key determinant of global competitiveness in the years and decades to come. The Plan for Labour and Development and the Originator’s Zone project prepared in our ministry will strengthen Polish creativity and ability to create competitive solutions,” said Deputy Prime Minister Jarosław Gowin during an on-line press conference devoted to support for Polish innovators, organised together with the chairman of the Polish Patent Office, Edyta Demby-Siwek.

The return to the “normality” of the tourism industry in all countries of the Visegrad Group will take long, but there is a chance that the industry will emerge stronger from the crisis – these are the main conclusions of the members of governments of the Visegrad Group countries responsible for tourism.

Employers will be able to declare their readiness to vaccinate their staff using forms which will be available from May 4 on the website of the Government Centre for Security. The guidelines for vaccination organised by employers are aligned with the demands expressed by the entrepreneurs at the last week’s meeting of the Entrepreneurship Council held at the Ministry of Economic Development, Labour and Technology.
