Local governments and non-governmental organisations can submit applications for co-financing of local safety initiatives under the '"Safer together" Władysław Stasiak Government Programme for Limiting Crime and Antisocial Behaviour for 2022-2024'. The funding pool for the 4th edition of the Programme is PLN 36 million. Deputy Minister Maciej Wąsik has already informed the voivodes about initiating the procedure for selecting projects to be financed in 2022.

At the beginning of August this year, the Council of Ministers adopted the resolution on the Programme. The 4th edition of the '"Safer Together" Władysław Stasiak Government Programme for Limiting Crime and Antisocial Behaviour for 2022-2024' will focus on two significant security-related aspects. The first is the strengthening of security in public places. In this context, a fundamental assignment will be creating local security systems. This task will be carried out by, among other things, building or upgrading pedestrian crossings, urban monitoring systems or illuminating places perceived as dangerous.

The other critical objective of the Programme is to raise awareness of social safety hazards at the local level and effective methods of thwarting them. That includes prevention and education activities.

At the central level, the tasks resulting from the "Safer together" Government Programme will be coordinated by the Minister of the Interior and Administration. Locally, the voivodes will handle these issues.

Previous editions of the Programme

There have been three editions of the Programme so far. The first one in 2007 - 2015 amounted to approximately PLN 27 million and financed nearly 400 projects. Its continuation was the '"Safer Together" Władysław Stasiak Programme for Limiting Crime and Antisocial Behaviour 2016 and 2017'. Under that Programme, almost PLN 8 million was allocated to co-finance over 150 projects. The third edition, carried out in 2018 - 2022, is approximately PLN 19 million, with over 270 projects subsidised.

All previous editions have been based on cooperation between the government, local governments and non-governmental organisations. The "Safer Together" Programme has allowed the efficient transfer of funds to implement safety-related tasks.
