30.08.2023

After the briefing, the ministers issued their statements to the media in the village of Usnarz Górny.

Minister Mariusz Kamiński, Minister of Defence Mariusz Błaszczak and Minister of Foreign Affairs Zbigniew Rau

Our officers and soldiers put their own health and lives at risk at the border, ensuring the integrity and sovereignty of our country. They are defending Europe from the chaos that the dictators from Minsk and Moscow want to unleash upon us. Our uniformed services and the military work together very well, supporting each other and showing solidarity. We are highly impressed and we applaud the determination of our servicemen and soldiers. We came here to thank them for their exemplary service

said the Minister of the Interior and Administration.

The minister also reminded the attendees that a military drill was slated to start in Belarus on the 1st of September.

We are aware that Russian Federation troops are going to participate as well. Given the Russian involvement in the bloody war in Ukraine, the scale of these exercises is not going to be particularly shocking. These exercises are an element of psychological warfare against Poland and our citizens, among others

he noted.

The Minister of the Interior and Administration assured that we are prepared for this situation and the resulting threats.

We will deal with this threat, just like we dealt with the wave of irregular migrants that Putin and Lukashenko wanted to unleash upon Europe two years ago. Poles want our country to be safe, which is why they support the service of our servicemen and troops on the border. They also understand its purpose

 Minister Mariusz Kamiński concluded.

Polish-Belarusian border is secure

During the event, the Minister of Defence, Mariusz Błaszczak, pointed out that the border is secure thanks to the measures implemented by the Polish government. ‘Thanks to the government, the barrier was erected along the border. The nation is firmly supporting its military. We will not allow Poland to be destabilised’, said the Minister of Defence.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs Zbigniew Rau noted that the barrier along the Belarusian border is a response to the Russian imperialist aggression.

‘We have in mind the various “special operations” – the second Chechen war, Georgia, as well as the latest “special operation” in Ukraine. The hybrid attack on Poland was yet another “special operation”. We have put up this barrier, which serves as the eastern shield of NATO, a shield of will and determination that we have shown in the face of this aggression’, he concluded.
