Central Police Day Celebrations with the participation of Minister Mariusz Kamiński.

The Central Celebrations of Police Day were an opportunity to thank male and female officers for their efforts and commitment.

In crises, the Polish Police are the foundation of the state's operations. You act quickly, efficiently and effectively

– said Minister Mariusz Kamiński.

A brutal war is fought right next to our country's borders. All state structures pass the test of effective action. The Polish Police are doing it superbly, with significant results for the security of the state and its citizens

– added the Head of the Ministry of the Interior and Administration.

Furthermore, the Minister of the Interior and Administration pointed out that it was Police officers, together with Border Guard officers and soldiers of the Polish Armed Forces, who defended the integrity of Poland's border with Belarus. He recalled that from the very first hours of Russian aggression against Ukraine, Police officers were present at the border, helping and giving a sense of security to hundreds of thousands of women and children fleeing the war.

The Head of the Ministry of the Interior and Administration emphasised the importance of providing the Police with adequate capacity to operate.

I am very pleased that we have a new modernisation act, under which more than PLN 10 billion is allocated to services subordinate to the Ministry of the Interior and Administration. Of these funds, 6.5 billion will go to your formation. It will be an investment in people and modern equipment

– the Minister announced.

Minister Mariusz Kamiński greeted officers on the occasion of Police Day. He also congratulated all those promoted and awarded.

The Police as the foundation of security

During the ceremony, President Andrzej Duda referred to the work of the Police during the pandemic and the sacrificial service rendered on Poland's eastern border.

At the Poland-Belarus border, you support Border Guard officers, and for over a year, you have participated in the intensified operation against illegal migrants

– he addressed Police officers.

The President thanked them for their commitment to helping the Ukrainian Police officers.

Thank you for extending a helping hand to the families of Ukrainian Police officers. Thank you for sending equipment that helps our neighbours to defend themselves. You continue to maintain a state of increased readiness due to the wave of refugees from Ukraine and other threats from the war beyond our eastern border

– he said.

During the ceremonies, the Officer's Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta was awarded to the Commander-in-Chief of the Police, Inspector General Jarosław Szymczyk. In his speech, he thanked all Police officers and Police employees for their commitment.

Our formation guards the safety of Poland and its citizens 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We are wherever someone needs assistance. We undertake millions of interventions
