Maciej Duszczyk
Undersecretary of State
Prof. Maciej Duszczyk works as a researcher at the Centre for Migration Studies and the Faculty of Political Science and International Studies of the University of Warsaw. Former Chairman of the Council of the University of Gdańsk. In 2016–2020, he served as the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and International Cooperation of the University of Warsaw. In 2008–2011, he was a member of the team of strategic advisers to Prime Minister Donald Tusk, and in 2012–2014 he managed the work of the Task Force for the Development of Polish Migration Policy at the Chancellery of the President of the Republic of Poland. In 2014–2015, he was a visiting professor at Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg and Friedrich Schiller University Jena. Manager of grants funded by the National Science Centre, the Polish-German Foundation for Science and other organisations. Recipient of numerous scholarships and grants funded by the Jean Monnet Project, Carl Duisberg Gesellschaft and the Committee for Scientific Research.
He has given guest lectures at Oxford University, Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona, Durham University, University of California, Central European University in Budapest and other institutions. Associate of the United Nations Development Programme, International Labour Organization, International Organization for Migration, and the European Commission. Member of the Transatlantic Forum on Migration and Integration (German Marshall Fund of the United States).
Former reviewer of grant applications for the European Research Council, the European Fund for Migration and Asylum, as well as the Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe programmes.
