Meeting of the Ministers of the Interior of Poland and Moldova
12.09.2023
On Monday, 11 September, Minister Mariusz Kamiński met with the newly appointed Moldovan Minister of Internal Affairs Adrian Efros in Chisinau. Their meeting concerned Poland's continued support for Moldova to date as well as subsequent measures to address the threats facing the country. In this context, the ministers raised the topics of Russian aggression against Ukraine and attempts by pro-Russian groups to destabilise Moldova as well as the situation in Transnistria.
We support the democratic government of Moldova, which is why during my visit to Chisinau today, I met the Moldovan Minister of Internal Affairs Adrian Efros. We discussed continued cooperation between our services in the area of security in the region
Minister Mariusz Kamiński noted.
The talks between the two ministers were a follow-up to the recent donation of a shipment of arms, ammunition and equipment provided by Poland in June this year to bolster the Moldovan police forces. Minister Mariusz Kamiński's visit to Chisinau is a declaration of continued support for Moldova in the areas of internal security, border management and civil protection.
The meeting on Monday reiterates Poland and Moldova's close relations. In November 2022, Minister Mariusz Kamiński and the former Moldovan Minister of Internal Affairs Ana Revenco signed a Memorandum of Understanding between Poland and Moldova on enhancing cooperation in the field of internal affairs.
