Polish and Moldovan interior ministers meet for talks

On Friday, 25 November 2022, Minister Mariusz Kamiński attended a meeting with Ana Revenco, Minister of Internal Affairs of Moldova. Their talks were devoted to some of the key challenges in the field of security, cooperation and exchange of experience in the area of internal affairs, as well as the ongoing war in Ukraine.
The Polish side provided assurances of its full support in the development of institutional capacity in the area of internal affairs to the partners in Moldova. This is going to be accomplished by means of exchanging experiences concerning countering and combating threats to the security and safety of citizens.
During the talks, Minister Mariusz Kamiński pointed out that the ongoing war in Ukraine has exacerbated the challenges faced by law enforcement agencies concerning fighting drug crime, cybercrime and terrorism, which is why the cooperation between the two countries is paramount.
At the end of the meeting, a Memorandum of Understanding between Poland and Moldova on strengthening cooperation in the area of internal affairs was signed by both sides. This memorandum outlines a number of issues, including the scope of cooperation between both parties to the agreement.
The signed Memorandum reads:
The Parties shall strive to continue, strengthen and develop cooperation in the areas of internal affairs … concerning in particular security and public order, disaster risk management … combating cybercrime, disinformation and hybrid threats, border management, as well as migration, asylum, and medical care in services subordinate to and supervised by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
