Minister Tomasz Siemoniak

Born 2 July 1967 in Wałbrzych. Polish politician and economist.  

Graduate of the Faculty of International Trade at the SGH Warsaw School of Economics. Fellow of the University of Duisburg-Essen. In 1994–1996, he worked at Telewizja Polska, including as head of TVP 1. In 1998–2000, he headed the Bureau of Press and Information of the Ministry of National Defence. Since 2002, he has also served as Vice-President of the Supervisory Board of the Polish Press Agency.  

From 1998 to 2000, he served as a municipal councillor in the Warsaw-Centre municipality, and from December 2000 until mid-2002 he was deputy mayor of Warsaw. In 2002–2006 he was a member of the Management Board of Polskie Radio, and until 2007 served as Deputy Marshal of the Mazovian Voivodeship. In November 2007, he was appointed Secretary of State at the Ministry of the Interior and Administration, and in 2011 he became Minister of National Defence in Donald Tusk’s government. In September 2014, he accepted the post of Deputy Prime Minister in Ewa Kopacz’s cabinet, and has been a member of the Polish Parliament since 2015. In December 2023, he was appointed a minister and coordinator of the intelligence agencies.

On 13 May 2024, he was appointed Minister of the Interior and Administration.
