Poland in the Netherlands

On Tuesday, October 29, 2024, a joint concert was held in Breda, featuring the Polish Orchestra of the Capital Royal City of Kraków, Sinfonietta Cracovia, conducted by Katarzyna Tomala-Jedynak, and the Dutch choir Bredense Opera, led by Lex Wiersma. The event, titled Liberation Concert in Honor of the Polish Liberators, marked the culmination of several days of ceremonies commemorating the 80th anniversary of Breda’s liberation by the soldiers of the 1st Polish Armored Division under the command of General Stanisław Maczek.

The Polish mission in the Hague made a short film titled “Polish Traces in Breda” to mark the 80th anniversary of the city’s liberation by the Polish 1st Armoured Division commanded by General Stanisław Maczek.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Radosław Sikorski has concluded his visit to the Netherlands after meeting with his Dutch counterpart, Caspar Veldkamp, and inaugurating the 33rd edition of the Utrecht Conference. He also participated in events marking the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Breda by the Polish 1st Armoured Division commanded by General Stanisław Maczek.

On September 7, 2024, the first edition of the Polish festival "Witaj! Eindhoven" took place in Eindhoven, celebrating Polish culture and fostering a sense of community among Poles living in the Netherlands. The event was a great success, attracting over 3,000 attendees. The festival's highlight was a concert by the band Lady Pank, preceded by speeches from the Mayor of Eindhoven, Jeroen Dijsselbloem, and the Polish Ambassador to the Netherlands, Margareta Kassangana.

Important D-type national visa announcement

On 25 of January Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Margareta Kassangana, has presented the Letters of Credentials to King Willem-Alexander.

Op 20 januari 1942, 80 jaar geleden, op een koude januaridag in de stad Wannsee bij Berlijn, onder leiding van Reinhard Heydrich, hoofd van de Sicherheitspolizei en de Sicherheitsdienst en hoofd van de Reichssicherheitshauptamt, ontmoetten een groep van 15 vertegenwoordigers van de Duitse autoriteiten van het Derde Rijk en hoge SS-functionarissen elkaar.
