Certifying conformity of translations

Where to apply?

You can apply at a selected Polish consular office, which provides translations from the language of the document. 

Do I have to apply in person?

You can submit the documents personally or send them by post.

How to book an appointment?

You can book your appointment via the e-konsulat system.

What documents do I need to submit?

Please prepare the original document and its translation.

Please note:

  • The consul can certifying conformity of translations of documents with repetitive content as part of the ongoing case (e.g. birth certificate, marriage certificate) from Norwegian into Polish. 
How much does it cost?

The fee is referred to in item 6.09 of the Consular Fees Table. From 1 January 2024, the fee is 338 NOK (for each page).

You should pay the fee in cash, during your visit in our office. If you send the application by post, you should pay by bank transfer.

What is the waiting time?

The consul certifies translations without undue delay, but not later than 30 days from the filing date.

How to collect the documents?

Personally. You can also ask to have the documents delivered by post if you pay the postage.

How to appeal?

If the certification is refused, the consul will issue a decision. You can appeal against the decision to the Minister of Foreign Affairs within 7 days. You can lodge the appeal through the consul who had issued the decision.
