The Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Pretoria kindly informs that the next consular duty will take place in Harare, Zimbabwe on 24 -25 February 2020.

The Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA) opens the call for proposals under the Polish Returns programme. The programme enables Polish scholars to return to their home country and become employed at universities and research institutes. From this year on, it is possible also to obtain a starting grant for fundamental research, financed by the National Science Centre (NCN).

The Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA) is pleased to announce the second edition of the programme for post-doctoral incoming researchers: The Ulam Programme. The objective of The Ulam Programme is to help foreign researchers to develop their careers by intensifying international mobility and to allow them to establish scientific cooperation with excellent host institutions in Poland.

Wolves Summit is an international conference for start-ups, investors, and corporates. It focuses on networking and facilitating business development. The upcoming 11th edition will take place on 24-25 March 2020 in Warsaw, Poland.

The gen. Władysław Anders scholarship program for the Polish diaspora is addressed to foreigners of Polish origin - nationals of: Belarus, Bulgaria, Czechia, Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, Moldova, Rumania, Slovakia, Hungary, countries of former Yugoslavia, Ukraine, Russia and countries of Central Asia and Caucasus, Latin America and Africa. The program enables young people of Polish origin and holders of the Card of the Pole (Karta Polaka) to study in Poland (full-time programs, in the Polish language) in higher education institutions supervised by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education.

On the initiative of the Holocaust & Genocide Centre in Johannesburg and in cooperation with the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation and the Israeli Embassy in Pretoria, official commemoration of the International Holocaust Remembrance Day and the 75th anniversary of the liberation of KL Auschwitz was held on 27 January 2020.

Summer courses of the Polish language and culture 2020

“The Sejm of the Republic of Poland condemns the provocative and untrue statements by representatives of the highest authorities of the Russian Federation attempting to hold Poland liable for the Second World War. A nation’s greatness and international relations may not be built upon lies and by falsifying history,” reads the resolution adopted by acclamation on Thursday. With this resolution, the deputies opposed to Russian politicians spinning the truth and falsifying history in order to discredit Poland and deteriorate Polish-Russian relations.
