Active Parent was adopted by the Sejm. - Money for the care of a young child will soon be coming to Polish families. Because work and family do not have to be mutually exclusive, and every toddler deserves to be cared for, emphasises the Minister for Family, Labour and Social Policy, Agnieszka Dziemianowicz-Bąk. The programme is due to come into force on 1 October this year.

The Council of Ministers has adopted a proposal to change the amounts of income criteria entitling to social assistance benefits from 1 January 2025, submitted by Agnieszka Dziemianowicz-Bąk, Minister of Family, Labour and Social Policy.

As many as five drafts of the Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Policy were the subject of parliamentary work on 8 and 9 May. Two of them are now just waiting for the President's signature.

At the end of April 2024, the registered unemployment rate was 5.1% and 798,500 people were unemployed, according to estimates from the Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Policy. Counting since 1991, there has never been a lower number of unemployed people or a lower registered unemployment rate in April.

In March this year, the unemployment rate in Poland - calculated according to Eurostat methodology - was 2.9 %, placing us on the first place among the EU countries with the lowest level of unemployment. The same result was recorded by the Czech Republic, which had led this ranking in previous months.

The situation of women on the labour market, the priorities of Poland's EU presidency, but above all the discussion on the prospects for further cooperation - these were the most important topics raised during the meeting between Deputy Minister Sebastian Gajewski and Lisa Paus, Federal Minister for the Family, the Elderly, Women and Youth.

Aktywny Maluch (Active Toddler) is a new version of the programme previously known as Maluch+ (Toddler+). But the name change is just the beginning. Above all, its budget has been increased - from PLN 5.5 billion to PLN 6.5 billion, thanks to which even more crèches can be set up across the country. Just now, the 4th call for proposals has been launched. It will run until the end of June this year.

'A few days before Labour Day, we are honouring those who, during their public activities, put the defence of the dignity of working people first,' said the Minister of Family, Labour and Social Policy, Agnieszka Dziemianowicz-Bąk, during a ceremony to name rooms in the Ministry after Professor Karol Modzelewski and Halina Krahelska. Together with relatives of the commemorated ministers, she officially unveiled the plaques dedicated to them.

'These are allowances (additional payments) that will allow people to live with dignity and make them feel that their difficult work is respected in Poland', says Agnieszka Dziemianowicz-Bąk, Minister of Family, Labour and Social Policy.
