05.12.2022Nuclear safety priorities - International Conference for Nuclear RegulatorsMore than 10 years after the disaster of the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant, representatives of the nuclear sector from around the world met in Tokyo to discuss measures taken after 2011 to strengthen nuclear safety. Poland was represented by the President of the PAA, Dr Łukasz Młynarkiewicz. The President of the PAA also participated in the meeting of the Committee on Nuclear Regulatory Activities of the Nuclear Energy Agency, which was also held in the capital of Japan.

22.11.2022The IAEA does not recognize attempts by the Russian Federation to take over the Zaporizhzhya Nuclear Power PlantAnother resolution condemning the actions of the Russian Federation in Ukraine was adopted by the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency. In the adopted resolution, the IAEA does not recognize attempts by the Russians to take over the Zaporizhzhya Nuclear Power Plant.

03.11.2022Resolution on the construction of first nuclear power plant approved by the GovernmentThe first nuclear power plant in Poland will be built on the basis of the American technology of Westinghouse Nuclear, the government decided. On Wednesday, November 2, the Council of Ministers adopted a resolution on this matter. The National Atomic Energy Agency (PAA) will supervise the safe implementation of this project.

19.10.202240th anniversary of the National Atomic Energy Agency of the Republic of PolandEach year PAA’s inspectors carry out around 1000 inspections in institutions that use ionizing radation. The National Atomic Energy Agency of the Republic of Poland also monitors the radiation situation round the clock. These are only examples of PPA’s actions for nuclear safety and radiological protection, which have been a priority for the Agency for 40 years. On 17th of October 2022, the anniversary celebebrations of the National Atomic Energy Agency took place in Warsaw.

30.09.2022PAA at 66th IAEA General ConferenceThe National Atomic Energy Agency of the Republic of Poland conducted series of consultations aimed at strengthening nuclear safety during the 66th General Conference of the International Atomic Energy Agency. The Polish delegation was chaired by Anna Moskwa, Minister of Climate and Environment. The vice-chairmen of the national delegation were PAA President Łukasz Młynarkiewicz and PAA Vice-President Andrzej Głowacki.

15.09.2022The IAEA Board of Governors calls upon Russia to cease all actions against the Zaporizhzhya NPPOn 15 September, the IAEA Board of Governors adopted a resolution calling upon the Russian Federation to immediately leave the territory of the Zaporizhzhya Nuclear Power Plant. The resolution was proposed and prepared by Poland and Canada.
