In Poland, the only facility where such an assessment will be carried out is nuclear reactor Maria. The PAA President has already issued a decision on the safety assessment of the Polish research reactor.

12.09.2022The meeting of the IAEA Board of GovernorsThe PAA President, Dr Łukasz Młynarkiewicz, is attending the meeting of the IAEA Board of Governors. The meeting started on Monday, 12 September, in Vienna and will last until 16 September. The representatives of 35 Member States are debating on e.g. the nuclear safety in Ukraine.

09.09.2022Meetings of the Polish nuclear regulatory authority with American partnersThe Polish Atomic Energy Agency (PAA) is enhancing its competence as the nuclear regulatory authority. PAA President, Dr Łukasz Młynarkiewicz, met up with the Chairman of the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), Christopher Hanson in Rockville n. Washington. Further cooperation and training for PAA personnel at US nuclear facilities were discussed.

The talks focused on the Zaporizhzhya NPP and the planned enhancement of cooperation between the PAA and SNRIU.
