Poland in Qatar

The 11th session of the World Urban Forum, WUF 11, the largest and most important event in the world devoted to the development of cities, will take place on June 26-30, 2022 in Katowice, Poland.

On 18-21 January in Doha, at the invitation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Qatar, the delegation of the Naval Academy in Gdynia, headed by the rector of the university, rear admiral prof. T. Szubrycht.

Today, Poland has started its one-year Chairmanship at the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE). Thus, our country is assuming a greater role in shaping security and stabilisation on the European continent in the spirit of the Helsinki Final Act, whose 50th anniversary we will be celebrating in 2025.

The Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Doha organized, in cooperation with the Qatar Chamber of Industry and Commerce and Qatar-Poland Business Council (QPBC), the Polish-Qatar Economic Roundtable, which was inaugurated on December 5, by H.E. the President of the Republic of Poland, Mr. Andrzej Duda, on an official visit to Qatar, in the presence of minister of commerce and industry of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Hamad Bin Qassim Al-Thani.

The Polish Air Navigation Services Agency and the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority signed on December 5th in Doha, during the visit of the President of the Republic of Poland, Andrzej Duda, to the State of Qatar, a letter of intent regarding the development of cooperation in the field of civil aviation. The agreement opens up new opportunities for cooperation between both institutions, including in the field of air traffic control with the use of modern IT tools.

3-5 December an official visit to the State of Qatar was paid by Andrzej Duda, the President of the Republic of Poland, together with his wife, Agata Kornhauser-Duda. The highlight of the agenda was the meeting with the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and the Prime Minister of Qatar, Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani, on 5 December.

On November 21st political consultations between Poland and Qatar took place at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar. The Polish side was represented by the Undersecretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Deputy Minister, Mr. Paweł Jabłoński. The Qatari delegation was chaired by Mr. Ahmad Hassen Al Hammadi, General Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar.

On November 21st the Embassy organized the 2nd Qatar-Poland New Tech Forum, in cooperation with the Qatar-Poland Business Council and the Qatar Financial Center. The partners of the event were: Qatar Free Zone Authorities, Investment Promotion Agency Qatar, Microsoft Qatar, Qatar Science & Technology Park and the Qatari Businessmen Association.

On November 21, 2021, during the official visit to Qatar, a delegation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland, chaired by the Undersecretary of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Economic Diplomacy, Mr. Paweł Jabłoński, met with Sheikh Faisal Al Thani, the President of Qatari Businessmen Association and the CEO of Al Faisal Holding.

On 21 November during his visit to the State of Qatar, the Deputy Foreign Minister, Mr. Paweł Jabłoński, gave an interview to the Al Jazeera Arabic television channel.
