Today, Mr. Henryk Kowalczyk, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, received Mr. Akio Miyajima, the Ambassador of Japan to Poland.

Today, on Ukraine’s initiative, Mr. Henryk Kowalczyk, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, held a video conference with Mr. Mykola Solskiy, Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.

Mr. Henryk Kowalczyk, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, met today for the first time with Mr. Vasyl Zvarych, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Republic of Poland, who presented his credentials in July 2022.

Today Mr. Ryszard Bartosik, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, met with Mrs. Mervat Mojali, Ambassador of the Republic of Yemen in Poland. During the meeting which had been initiated by Yemen, the prospects for the cooperation between Poland and Yemen in the field of agriculture were discussed, among others, in the context of the armed conflict in Ukraine and the disruption of food supply chains.

Mr. Ryszard Bartosik, Secretary of State, met with Mrs. Ana Maria Ramirez, the Ambassador of Argentina to Poland. Their talks concerned the current cooperation in the field of agriculture between Poland and Argentina, including the issue of the elimination of barriers impeding the access of agri-food products from Poland to the Argentine market.

Mr. Henryk Kowalczyk, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, chaired the meeting with the participation of Mr. Mykola Solskiy, Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, Mr. Olexandr Kubrakov, Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine, as well as Mr. Andrzej Adamczyk, Minister of Infrastructure, and Mr. Michał Dworczyk, Minister – Member of the Council of Ministers and Head of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister. The meeting was held yesterday evening at the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

At the Summer Fancy Food Show in New York – one of the largest and most important food fairs in the USA – there was the Polish national stand.

Undersecretary of State Krzysztof Ciecióra participated in the meeting of the Agriculture and Fisheries Council (AGRIFISH) in Luxembourg. Its most important topics included: the implementation of the Common Fisheries Policy and consultations on the fishing limits for 2023, the situation on the agricultural markets, the application of the EU standards to imported agri-food products, the sustainable use of plant protection products and ASF.

Mr. Henryk Kowalczyk, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, received in Warsaw Mr. Cem Özdemir, Minister of Food and Agriculture of Germany. The topics of their talks included food security in the EU and in the world in the context of the war in Ukraine, the national Strategic Plans and the implementation of the new CAP, as well as the Polish-German cooperation in combating ASF.

Mr. Henryk Kowalczyk, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, met with Mr. Jim Mazurkiewicz, Professor of Texas Agricultural and Mechanical University. As a rule, the occasion for these talks between the leadership of the MARD and Professor Jim Mazurkiewicz is the implementation of the Poland-Texas Young Farmer Exchange Program.
