The event was held on 13 May 2024 in Gdańsk under the honorary patronage of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education. The Congress was inaugurated by Deputy Minister of Science Professor Andrzej Szeptycki, who highlighted the efforts of the Polish academia to internationalise Polish science in a smart way.

Poland expresses deep disappointment about the adoption of the law on “transparency of foreign influence” by Georgia's parliament. The act is in breach of the European Union values and makes Georgia drift away from the EU.

On 13 May, Undersecretary of State Marek Prawda held consultations with his French and German counterparts: Secretary General of the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs Anne-Marie Descôtes and State Secretary of the German Federal Foreign Office Thomas Bagger.

On 10 May, the UN General Assembly in New York adopted a resolution expanding Palestine's rights in the UN. Poland, along with 142 UN member states, including the majority of the EU, voted in favour of the resolution. Nine countries voted against and 25 abstained.

Today's talks between Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski and First Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha focused on the upcoming Peace Summit in Switzerland, security cooperation, and Ukraine's accession to the European Union.

Visiting Estonia today, Minister Radosław Sikorski met with President of the Riigikogu Lauri Hussar, Prime Minister Kaja Kallas, Minister of Foreign Affairs Margus Tsahkna, and Minister of Defence Hanno Pevkur. While in Tallinn, Minister Sikorski also took part in Estonia’s Europe Day celebrations.

Hosted by Head of the Minister’s Political Cabinet Aleksandra Klimont-Bodzińska, the discussion addressed questions about Poland’s role in the EU structures, young people’s expectations of the European Union, the challenges ahead of the member states in the context of the current international situation, and the upcoming elections to the European Parliament.

30 April 2024 was the closing date for submitting applications in the procedure to select candidates for the role of judge of the European Court of Human Rights. We received 27 submissions. 14 women and 13 men submitted their applications.

The officials discussed the development of political and economic relations between both countries, as well as activities within the Eastern Partnership.

On 7 May 2024, Undersecretary of State Jakub Wiśniewski took part in the Foreign Affairs Council session held in Brussels in the format of development cooperation ministers (FAC Development).
