26.02.2022Refugees from Ukraine are accepted in Poland– Since the beginning of hostilities, 115 thousand people have crossed the border from Ukraine to Poland, said Deputy Minister Paweł Szefernaker. Today (26 February), the Deputy Minister was at border crossings with Ukraine: in Medyka (the Podkarpackie Voivodship) and Dorohusk (the Lubelskie Voivodship) together with Maj Gen Tomasz Praga, Commander-in-Chief of the Border Guard and Maj Gen Insp. Jarosław Szymczyk, Commander-in-Chief of the Police. The situation at the reception points was also reported by Ewa Leniart, Podkarpackie Voivode, and Lech Sprawka, Lubelskie Voivode.

At a press conference on 24 February, the head of the Ministry of the Interior and Administration presented plans to accept refugees from Ukraine. As he informed, reception points are being launched in the Podkarpackie and Lubelskie Voivodships. Information in this regard was also provided by Deputy Minister Paweł Szefernaker, Deputy Minister Błażej Poboży and Major General Tomasz Praga, Commander in Chief of the Border Guard.

Marek Chodkiewicz, the plenipotentiary for the preparation and implementation of state border protection installations, recommended that the construction of the barrier to be raised on the border with Belarus should be commissioned to two companies: BUDIMEX SA and UNIBEP SA. The Team for the preparation and implementation of state border protection installations gave a positive opinion on the plenipotentiary's proposal.

Today's (1 December) conference was also attended by Lieutenant Anna Michalska – a press officer of the Border Guard Headquarters, Stanisław Żaryn – a press officer of the Minister Coordinator of Special Services and Inspector Mariusz Ciarka – a press officer of the Police Headquarters.

29.11.2021 Senat RPThe Senate has adopted, with amendments, the amendment to the Act on the Protection of the State Border– "We have decided that in this situation it is necessary to provide Border Guard officers, police and soldiers with instruments which will make their service even more effective," said Deputy Minister Maciej Wąsik during work on the Act in the Senate. On Friday (26 November), the senators adopted the amendment to the Act on the Protection of the State Border and Certain Other Acts, amending it. The bill will now go back to the Sejm for debate.
