18.12.2020Ceremony of decoration Mr. P. Zagierski and Mr. M. KaczmarczykOn December 17, 2020 during the ceremony at the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Oslo, Ambassador I. Woicka-Żuławska awarded two representatives of the Polish Diaspora in Norway distinctively active in the promotion of Polish history and culture. Mr. Przemysław Zagierski was decorated with a commemorative medal on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Battle of Warsaw, and Mr. Mirosław "Carlos" Kaczmarczyk - with a bronze medal "For Merit to Culture - Gloria Artis".

16.11.2020Foreign Service Day 2020“As the Commander-in-Chief of the Polish Army, I hereby notify belligerent and neutral governments and nations of the existence of an Independent Polish State, within all the territories of the united Poland” – with these words Józef Piłsudski addressed the heads of world powers and notified them about the formation of the Second Polish Republic. On 16 November 2020 we celebrate Foreign Service Day. The day honours the work of Polish diplomats and other employees of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It marks an anniversary of the telegram Józef Piłsudski sent on 16 November 1918 to world leaders to inform them about the establishment of an independent Polish State.

13.11.2020Official celebration of the National Day of Independence in NorwayThe official celebration of the 102nd anniversary of Poland regaining independence in Norway took place on 11th November. Due to the epidemiological situation and the restrictions introduced by the Norwegian authorities in social contacts, the celebrations focused on laying wreaths at the monument of Polish aviators at the Vestre Gravlund cemetery in Oslo.

11.11.2020National Independence DayOn 11 November 1918, 102 years ago, Poland regained its independence. On this day, after his release from the Magdeburg Fortress, Józef Piłsudski took over military command from the Regency Council and, three days later, assumed supreme authority over civilian matters, to finally “as Commander-in-Chief of the Polish Army [...] notify belligerent and neutral governments and nations” of the reappearance of “the reborn and independent Republic of Poland” on the map. After 123 years of captivity, Poland became a sovereign and internationally recognised state.

10.11.2020"Paddymania"On the occasion of the Independence Day, the Musical Theater in Poznań would like to invite you to "Paddymania" - a concert with songs from the musical "Virtuoso" dedicated to the personage of Ignacy Jan Paderewski - one of the Fathers of Independence, an outstanding politician and prime minister and an outstanding pianist and composer. The world premiere of this musical by the American writer Matthew Hardy took place on September 12, 2020 at the Musical Theater in Poznań.
