Today, the Ministers of Agriculture of Poland, Bulgaria, Slovakia, Romania and Hungary met online. They established an informal coalition of five frontline countries at the initiative of Poland.

Minister Robert Telus, together with Undersecretary of State in the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development Krzysztof Ciecióra, met today with EU Commissioner for the Environment Virginijus Sinkevičius.

The topic of today's online meeting between the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Robert Telus and the Lithuanian Minister of Agriculture Kęstutis Navickas was the problematic situation on agricultural markets and possible measures at the EU level to deal with the damage to EU agricultural producers, especially in the Member States bordering Ukraine.

Today, The Chair of the Agricultural and Environmental Committee of the National Council of the Slovak Republic, Jaroslav Karahuta and the deputy Jozef Lukac were guests of the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Robert Telus. Secretary of State Ryszard Bartosik also took part in the talks.

Today, Mr. Henryk Kowalczyk, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, met with Mr. Sun Linjiang, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Poland. During the meeting they discussed the most important issues in the scope of bilateral cooperation in the agri-food sector.

The aim of the Conference on the European Dairy Sector: Opportunities and Challenges, which was held in Brussels, with the participation of Secretary of State Ryszard Bartosik, was to discuss the opportunities and challenges for the European dairy sector.

Today, Polish-Spanish talks were held at the seat of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. They were chaired by Mr. Henryk Kowalczyk, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, and Mr. Luis Planas, Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food of the Kingdom of Spain. The main topics of the talks included the priorities of the Spanish Presidency in the area of agriculture and fisheries and the Polish expectations and proposals concerning the most important issues of the current EU agenda.

Secretary of State Ryszard Bartosik participated in the Polish-Romanian Intergovernmental Consultations in Bucharest, Romania, which were chaired by the Prime Ministers of both countries. During the Consultations, he talked with Mr. Sorin Moise, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Romania. The purpose of the meeting was to strengthen Polish-Romanian cooperation and discuss important issues in the scope of agriculture and the current EU agenda.

Secretary of State Anna Gembicka participated on an online basis in the Regional Preparatory Meeting before the meeting which will take stock of the 2-year UN Food Systems Summit process. The purpose of the Regional Meeting is to share experiences, good practices and lessons learned from the efforts taken by the representatives of particular countries, so-called National Convenors, in the scope of the follow-up measures after the Summit in the Region of Europe and Central Asia.
