What problem is addressed by the project?
The main objective arising from the implementation of the Academy of Young Students project was to activate children and youth from Jelenia Góra schools by shaping motivation to learn and lead a healthy lifestyle through interesting, unusual forms of activities. The project undoubtedly helped solve the problem of traditional, often monotonous forms proposed in the school environment and allowed for the acquisition of new skills and knowledge taking into account the physical, emotional, cognitive and social competences. During the project, learning situations were created that allowed for experimentation and acquisition of experiences as well as poly-sensory cognition. The activities were aimed at developing children and young people's activity, shaping their ability to use their developing mental cognitive processes, supporting their individuality, originality and building their self-esteem.
Who uses the project results?
The results of the project will be primarily beneficial for teachers, parents as well as children and young people participating in the project. Participation in classes and the level of competence improvement after completing the project is an important, multidimensional feedback, which allows for shaping the teaching and educational process in a way taking into account the goals achieved in the project. It is also important information for the entire academic community, whose mission is to cooperate with the local environment and support its needs and expectations.
What was the greatest challenge during project implementation?
The biggest challenge was the implementation of selected project tasks in a remote form due to COVID-19 and the need to modify the schedules for the implementation of classes. A significant problem (in the first two years of the project) was also communication with NCBiR representatives, who responded to correspondence with considerable delays.
Our advice for other applicants
It is very important to organise individual tasks and plan them well in advance. Equally important is communication with all persons responsible for project coordination, which facilitates the process of planning, execution and summary of the project tasks.
