For the sake of common security

The aim of the programmes and projects implemented is not only to increase the potential of Polish scientific and industrial entities, but also to strive for technological independence by creating Polish "know-how" for critical technologies in the field of state security and defense. So far, 19 competitions have been carried out under these programmes, with a total budget of over PLN 4.1 billion.

The Center carries out tasks related to scientific research or development works for the defense and security of the state pursuant to Art. 28 of the Act of 30 April 2010 on the National Center for Research and Development.

Programmes and projects are prepared on the basis of priority technological areas (technology development) defined for the 7th strategic direction of scientific research and development - state security and defense, included in the National Research Programme established by the resolution of the Council of Ministers No. 164/2011 of 16 August 2011.
The method of implementation by the Center of tasks related to the conduct of scientific research or development works for state defense and security and their financing or co-financing is specified in the Regulation of the Minister of Science and Higher Education of August 28, 2020 on the tasks of the National Center for Research and Development related to carrying out scientific research or development works for the benefit of state defense and security.
