What problem does our project solve?

The project made it possible to:

1) improvement of professional, language and communication competences of the students of the Higher Education Institution corresponding to the needs of the economy, labour market and society through:

a) adaptation of the curriculum of first-cycle studies with practical profile to the labour market needs through implementation of new specialisations in the fields of philology, pedagogy, journalism and social communication,

b) organisation of workshops together with study visits to employers for students of the faculty of dietetics,

c) organisation of a course on Building a personal brand on the labour market together with project tasks for students of the last four semesters of first-cycle studies (bachelor's and engineering ones)),

d) support for the provision of high quality services by the Academic Career Office through employment of an additional person with qualifications of a career advisor and equipping the Academic Career Office with modern working tools.

2)  modernisation of the management system of the Higher Education Institution and improvement of the competences of the personnel of the Higher Education Institution through:

a) development and implementation of an Integrated Management Model for the Higher Education Institution,

b) increase in the efficiency of management at the Higher Education Institution through the expansion and modernisation of the IT system in operation,

c) modernisation of the functioning of the Library through modernisation of the multimedia laboratory and extension of the book collection through access to the virtual platform,

d) increase in the competence of the teaching staff of the Higher Education Institution through a participation in training courses on the practical application of modern IT tools in teaching and modern teaching strategies, methods and techniques, as well as on improving English language skills,

e) improvement of the competences of the management and administrative personnel through a participation of employees in certified trainings, courses and postgraduate studies.

Who will benefit from the outcomes of the project?

Students, teaching and administrative personnel, the Higher Education Institution and employers benefit from the project outcomes. The results of the project will have an impact on the next intake of students. Well-educated didactic personnel, in terms of modern teaching methods, teach more effectively, and the acquired didactic competences are used when conducting classes with students. Entrepreneurs who employ graduates - participants of the project - acquire well-prepared and trained employees with very high professional and interpersonal competences. The Integrated Management Model developed and implemented allows for the effective use of the personnel of the Higher Education Institution and its financial resources. The trainees act as a 'relay' of good practice for other employees. 30% of graduates of the Higher Education Institution who were supported by the project continued their education or took up employment within 6 months of completing their education.

What was the most challenging aspect of the implementation of the project for us?

Giving advice on career counselling, organising classes, courses, workshops, study visits, postgraduate studies and other forms of further training during the COVID-19 pandemic. Changing the organisation of the full-time to on-line form.

Our advice to other Applicants

Efficient communication of the project team. Responding on an ongoing basis to emerging difficulties in the implementation of the project, in particular responding to the dynamically changing situation on the market, introducing new forms of support in place of those planned but unable, for various reasons, to be held.
