The National Centre for Research and Development

The official signing of an agreement between the NCBR and KETEP – Korea Institute of Energy Technology Evaluation and Planning was held on October 28 at the headquarters of the National Centre for Research and Development. By signing the document, both government institutions confirmed their will to take up bilateral cooperation. Under the agreement, NCBR and KETEP aim to prepare and announce joint contests for research and development projects. The multilateral activities in the scope of cooperation to be started by the agencies aim to bring measurable technological and economic benefits in the scope of energy technologies.

Cooperation in the area of energy is going to contribute to the development of innovative energy technologies and to extend the national research and development works. The fist call for proposals is planned to be announced in 2023.

- We are proud of the possibility of executing a bilateral project together with Korea Institute of Energy Technology Evaluation and Planning (KETEP) – this is another step in the direction of development and supporting innovativeness in Poland in the area of advanced energy technologies.

The project of a bilateral programme between the National Centre for Research and Development (NCBR) and Korea Institute of Energy Technology Evaluation and Planning (KETEP) assumes cooperation in the area of energy technologies. They are exceptionally important within the context of the future and the occurring climate changes. At the same time, this is a chance to promote the Polish research and development sector, to present the projects and products of the Polish industry, business, scientific community or the activity of the NCBR. Expansion and continuation of the cooperation under the Polish-Korean research and development programme is going to create new opportunities for the scientific communities and entrepreneurs from Poland and South Korea who strive towards innovation – said Paweł Kuch, PhD, acting Director of the National Centre for Research and Development (NCBR).

Korea Institute of Energy Technology Evaluation and Planning (KETEP) is a government body, which focuses, among others, on the assessment and the management of the development of energy technologies.

Its primary areas of activity include, among others:

• the analysis and predicting trends in the energy technology,
• dissemination and supervision over information,
• support, assessment and assistance in the development of technological plans for companies,
• execution of policy in the scope of carrying out research related to energy technologies on the national and international scale.
