One of the aims of the projects was to simplify and speed up the process of installing the alarm system.
AVA PRO is the combination of a professional alarm system with the state-of-the-art of a smart home. The distinctive feature of this system on the market is the contactless user identification, which allows you to easily enable and disable the alarm without having to memorise a code. AVA PRO additionally features an open architecture and modularity of the system, giving the possibility to customise the offering to individual customer needs. The system facilitates remote configuration and diagnostics with the EBS Config 2.0 installer application, available in desktop and mobile versions.
The user, on the other hand, has the EBS Security application at his/her disposal, which makes it easy to manage the system from anywhere in the world.
The AVA PRO alarm system is a wireless solution integrating elements of a security system using two-way communication technology and a WiFi connection, along with the possibility of integrating the alarm system with the Smart Home solutions (possibility of comprehensive control of home appliances, e.g. temperature control) and operating the entire system from the level of applications for mobile devices (in Poland and abroad).
What problem does our project solve?
The AVA PRO system is designed to simplify the processes and tasks involved in operating an intrusion detection system while maintaining the large number of functions and controls that can be achieved. The main feature of this system, which sets it apart from many similar ones, is the absence of the classic keypad used for programming and changing system parameters, as well as for user operation. It has been replaced by a simplified wireless keypad that works with contactless user identificators.
Elderly people who were very apprehensive about enabling and disabling alarm systems, typing in the wrong code caused the alarm system to activate, and as a result were exposed to stressful situations. The introduction of the AVA KEY, a system for disabling the alarm system using a proximity pendant and without having to enter a code, no longer causes such situations.
The AVA PRO system has a modular design, which makes it easy to adapt to the needs of both individual and corporate users. The detection elements of the system are motion sensors, motion sensors with integrated cameras and magnetic sensors. Other sensors can also be connected to the system.
In addition to the hardware components, significant components of the overall ecosystem are the server software allowing the use of the public cloud, the desktop software for installers and the mobile software for end users. A special role is played by the end-user application allowing the smartphone to be used as the main interface of the alarm system.
The implementation of the Panic Button functionality (panic button in the mobile application - in the event of a threat to life or health, the security company responds immediately) makes us feel safer.
Who will benefit from the outcomes of the project?
AVA PRO is the response to the needs of end users who want a solution that enables them to monitor their homes remotely, a solution characterised by reduced energy consumption, a high level of security, ease of installation and operation.
The end users in particular will benefit from the outcomes of the project, but also security agencies and distributors, as well as the installers of our equipment, as the efficiency of sales and customer service to the end user increases.
What was the most challenging aspect of the implementation of the project for us
The project period coincided with the COVID pandemic, remote working, difficulties in the availability of semiconductor components or an increase in the demand for specialists in IT industries. This caused delays in the completion of individual tasks. The management challenge was to synchronise the production of multiple system components so that the effects of the final stages coincided. This made it possible to test device and software models under conditions close to real life with future customers and end users.
Our advice to other Applicants
In the case of our industry, software and electronic device producers, the criteria for evaluating success must be chosen carefully. Technological advances and trends change dynamically, both from the aspect of the technologies used in development and the functional requirements set by customers and users.
