We are pleased to announce that on November 19, 2024, the National Centre for Research and Development (NCRD) signed an agreement with the Ministry of Funds and Regional Policy (Managing Authority) for the funding of a non-competitive project under the European Funds for a Modern Economy 2021–2027 (FENG) program in the area of innovative public procurement. The total amount of funding is 505 million PLN (113 mln EUR). The project will be implemented until December 31, 2029.

As part of the project, NCBR will collaborate with three groups of stakeholders: 1) public sector entities, 2) R&D project contractors, 3) society – the potential users of solutions previously implemented in public institutions. The project includes two key activities. The first one involves launching, in cooperation with public sector entities, at least 15 R&D initiatives in the form of pre-commercial procurements. The goal is to develop solutions that address public sector needs related to the European Green Deal transformation and digitalization. The second action consists of educational initiatives in the area of innovative public procurement, aimed at public sector entities.

We are convinced that the implementation of the „Innovative Public Procurement” project will contribute not only to the further development of R&D initiatives, the promotion of the innovative public procurement model and European Funds but also to strengthening the leading role of the National Centre for Research and Development in shaping and supporting national innovation policy.
