22.07.2021Government Fund for Local Investments covers nearly 50% of the funding needed to renovate the Białystok Drama TheatreThe Government Fund for Local Investments (GFLI) is a programme under which government funding is provided to local authorities all over Poland. The funding provided by the government can then be used for such projects as the renovation of the Aleksander Węgierko Drama Theatre in Białystok. Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki confirmed that this financial support is non-repayable as it is provided under the COVID-19 Prevention Fund.

The Prime Minister stressed that the Polish Deal for agriculture is one of the core activities of the government.

22.07.2021Town square renovation, a sports pitch and a sports hall – brand new investment projects in the Podlaskie VoivodeshipThanks to government programmes, investment projects vital to citizens are being implemented across Poland. Grajewo, which will soon have its town square renovated, is a perfect example in this regard. This is thanks to funding from the Government Fund for Local Investments. “It is crucial to create places in our beautiful cities where nature and culture harmonise with each other”, said Prime Minister Morawiecki during his visit to the Podlaskie Voivodeship. The Prime Minister also visited Czarna Białostocka where a new football pitch was put into use in June this year. The head of the government also noted that apart from the pitch, a sports hall is being erected as well. “This is thanks to funding from the Polish state budget – these facilities would not exist without it”, Mr Morawiecki remarked.

19.07.2021As part of the Government Fund for Local Investments and the Polish Deal, we propose investment project development across Poland, announced PM Morawiecki during visit to Miedziana GóraThe construction of a new water pipeline and sewage system in the Miedziana Góra commune is just one of many investment projects made possible by funding provided under the Government Fund for Local Investments. During his visit to the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship, Prime Minister Morawiecki also noted that similar projects will be implemented across Poland as part of the Polish Deal programme. The Prime Minister also visited the construction site of Kraków’s northern ring road, which will significantly facilitate communication for the city's residents. “We will have a new, large water retention project nearby. By combining infrastructural elements in this way, we can prevent flooding on the one hand, and make communication easier for the local residents and entrepreneurs on the other”, PM Morawiecki emphasized.

Flooded houses and roads in GłogoczówOn the night of 17 and 18 July, a violent storm struck, leaving numerous buildings and roads in the Małopolskie Voivodeship flooded. Several bridges were also destroyed. The towns that were struck the most are situated in the Myślenice Commune. Mateusz Morawiecki said that aid would be provided to the victims.

Government to tighten road traffic rulesThe government plans to increase penalties for traffic violations – “A car must not be a lethal weapon in the hands of irresponsible people – and in the case of those driving under the influence – thugs behind the wheel. In line with our announcement and with my exposé, I obliged the government to take decisive action in this regard”, said Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki during a picnic initiating the next edition of the #GoodDriver campaign. Initiated by PKN ORLEN two years ago, the campaign aims to increase the awareness of Polish drivers and thereby improve road safety.

14.07.2021Children are the nation’s future – Prime Minister Morawiecki visits a family picnic in Kalisz“Family policy is the hallmark of our government”, said PM Morawiecki during his visit to the Wielkopolskie Voivodeship. Recent years have seen the introduction of many positive solutions benefitting parents, including the “Family 500+”, “Toddler+” and “Good Start” programmes. Working under the Polish Deal initiative, we continue our efforts aimed at supporting parents and children, with the next milestone on the way to strengthening Polish families being the Family Care Capital. This was also the primary theme of the Kalisz family picnic attended by the Prime Minister. The Family Care Capital will be yet another financial boost for parents, with families eligible to receive additional support totalling PLN 12,000. Parents will be able to flexibly use the funding received to cover the costs of caring for their second and each subsequent child aged 12 to 36 months.
