The IDEAS NCBR Sp. z o. o.  (IDEAS NCBR Ltd) since 2020 is a part of the NCBR Group.  The 100% of the shares in the company are owned by the National Center for Research and Development - the government agency financing applied research.

 

The main purpose of establishing IDEAS NCBR Sp. z o. o. is to increase the R&D&I potential in the field of artificial intelligence and digital economy.

The specific objectives are:

  • Increasing the competences of the R&D staff,
  • Increasing the number of R&D initiatives/projects,
  • Intensification of cooperation between business and research entities.

The Company's tasks will be carried out by thematic research and development teams led by outstanding scientists with a recognized scientific position and practical experience in the implementation of R&D projects.

The company will have organizational and administrative facilities, a team dealing with activities supporting the commercialization of the results of the work carried out, and a group of experts supporting the popularization of practical applications of AI solutions and effective methods of their implementation. In the activities of IDEAS NCBR Sp. z o. o. the Scientific Council will also participate as an advisory capacity.

R&D thematic areas include:

  • Intelligent public administration,
  • Economic algorithms and algorithmic data analysis, ML in augmented reality,
  • Digital currencies - digital zloty, blockchain and smart contracts,
  • Basic research in the field of machine learning,
  • Robust and explainable artificial intelligence.

Establishment of IDEAS NCBR Sp. z o. o. will allow to focus the unique human potential in one place, provide scientists and practitioners with the possibility of daily direct contacts and exchange of experiences, and, in a long-term perspective, the accumulation of knowledge and competences in one organization.

The legal basis for the establishment of the Company, is the § 2 point 2 of the Regulation of the Minister of Science and Higher Education of September 17, 2010 on the detailed procedure for the implementation of NCBR tasks in connection with art. 30a paragraph. 2 in conjunction with art. 30a paragraph 1 point 2 and art. 29, art. 30 sec. 1 paragraphs 1-3 and article. 30 sec. 2 of the Act of 30 April 2010 on the National Center for Research and Development (hereinafter: the "NCBR Act").

The undertaking serves the implementation of the following tasks of the Center: ​​​​

  • Support for the development of scientific staff (art. 30 paragraph 2 of the NCBR Act),
  • Financing of scientific research and development works and activities preparing the results of scientific research and development for implementation (art. 30 paragraph 1, point 2), as well as financing of application research (art, 30 paragraph 1, point 3 of the NCBR Act),
  • Supporting the commercialization of research and development results and other forms of their transfer to the economy (art. 30 paragraph 1, point 1 of the NCBR Act),
  • Stimulating investment by entrepreneurs in scientific activities (task specified in the art. 29 of the NCBR Act).
