Poland in Tanzania

This year, the existing scholarship programmes that are a joint initiative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Agency for Academic Exchange NAWA in the form of Polish development aid, i.e. the Banach Scholarship Programme and the Lukasiewicz Scholarship Programme, are merged into one scholarship programme for young people from developing countries who wish to take up studies in Poland. The call for applications will be carried out until June 21, 2021, 3:00 pm local time (Warsaw).

Until May 31, you can apply to the Stanisław Moniuszko International Competition of Polish Music. The second edition of the Competition will be held from September 11 to 18, 2021 at the Artur Malawski Podkarpacie Philharmonic in Rzeszów. Participants will compete for a total prize pool of over eighty thousand euros in two categories - piano and chamber ensembles. The competition is organized by the Institute of Music and Dance, and the main financial prizes are funded by the Ministry of Culture, National Heritage and Sport.

During reception organized in the gardens of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Dar es Salaam, Ambassador Krzysztof Buzalski recalled the history of the May 3rd Constitution and read a letter from Minister Zbigniew Rau with wishes for Poles.

When on 3 May 1791 the Four-Year Sejm also called the Great Sejm adopted The Government Act of the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth later known as the Constitution of 3 May, the Polish-Lithuanian state became the Europe’s first and the world’s second that passed the basic law. For its time, it was a progressive and bold legal act which initiated a number of reforms. It also constituted a crowning achievement of the centuries-old links between Poland and Lithuania.

The Day of Polish Community and Poles Abroad was established in recognition of the historical contribution of diaspora communities to the national objectives of the country of their forefathers. Celebrated jointly with Polish Flag Day, it is intended to encourage Poles to reflect on the glorious pages of the country’s past.

On April 21, 2021, Ambassador Krzysztof Buzalski signed the Cluster Charter grouping the Embassies of: Poland, Spain, France, Italy, Germany as well as the Goethe Institut and Alliance Francaise in the field of cooperation in cultural diplomacy.

A virtual event "Future Health Poland 2021" dedicated to Polish manufacturers of medical equipment and devices will take place on March 23-25, 2021.

Thirty years ago, on 15 February 1991, the presidents of Poland and Czechoslovakia, and the prime minister of Hungary signed the Declaration on Cooperation between the Czech and Slovak Federal Republic, the Republic of Poland and the Republic of Hungary in Striving for European Integration in the castle of Visegrad, Hungary.

In 2020, thanks to Polish aid, the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Dar es Salaam implemented a project to support the education of children with developmental difficulties. We visited children from the special needs kindergarten in Dar es Salaam and handed over gifts funded by Polish aid.

Ambassador Krzysztof Buzalski visited the Swaga Swaga nature reserve in Tanzania, where Polish archaeologist Maciej Grzelczyk recently discovered unknown rock paintings from several thousand years ago, and held talks with the reserve authorities and our scientist to support his further research.
