Dariusz Wieczorek

Born on May 23, 1965 in Szczecin, graduate of the 1st Secondary School. Maria Skłodowska-Curie in Szczecin and the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the Szczecin University of Technology.

Postgraduate studies in organization and management of tourism economy as well as administrative and local government law.

In the years 1998–2001 he was vice-president of Szczecin. He also served as a councilor of the West Pomeranian Assembly of the 2nd, 4th and 5th terms.

He was the president of the management board of Energetyka Szczecińska, a member of the management board of the joint-stock company Enea, and the director of a branch of ENEA Operator.

Since 2019, he has been a member of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland. In the Sejm of the 9th term, he was a member of the Maritime Economy and Inland Navigation Committee and the Committee for Energy, Climate and State Assets, as well as secretary of the Left parliamentary club.

He is the vice-chairman of the New Left. Since December 13, 2023, he has been the Minister of Science in the government of Prime Minister Donald Tusk.

He is married and has a son. He was the drummer of the band Vinders
