Warsaw hosts the 48th European Students’ Convention – opening ceremony attended by the Minister of Science

Warsaw for a few days became the center of an international student debate on the future of higher education. Minister of Science Dariusz Wieczorek solemnly inaugurated the 48th edition of the European Students’ Convention. One of the most important events in the calendar of European student organizations attracted representatives of university self-governments from 40 member countries. Poland for the first time has the honor of serving as host of this prestigious meeting.

The main topic of this year’s event is artificial intelligence and digitization in the field of higher education. Minister Dariusz Wieczorek noted that Poland has much to offer in this field, both in terms of developing technology and innovative research projects. The head of the Ministry of Science expressed pride that it was Warsaw that became the venue for a student discussion on the most current trends and issues related to education in the era of digitization. “This is a good debate about the future of higher education, where young people from nearly 40 countries are reflecting together on the challenges of digitization and artificial intelligence. I am happy to see this commitment and concern for the future. This event not only underscores the importance of our country in the international dialogue, but also sets the course for teaching in the coming years,” said the minister.

European Students’ Convention

The European Students’ Convention is an event organized by the European Students’ Union (ESU) representing the interests of students from all over Europe. It is held in a different country each year. It brings together student representatives from 44 student organizations from 40 member countries as well as cooperating organizations and institutions. This year the organizer of the event is the Parliament of Students of the Republic of Poland.
