Meeting between Deputy Minister Andrzej Szeptycki and the Prime Minister of Saxony

Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, Prof. Andrzej Szeptycki, received Saxon Prime Minister Michael Kretschmer, who visited Warsaw in the company of Saxon Landtag deputies Jan Löffler and Alexander Wiesner.
On strengthening Polish-Saxon cooperation in the field of science
The main topic of discussion was the prospects for the development of Polish-Saxon scientific cooperation, especially with regard to the organization of next year’s International Scientific Conference in Dresden (5th edition in September 2025) and the expansion of cooperation between Polish scientific centers and centers located in Saxony. The attendees exchanged views on the directions of development of the latest technologies, including opportunities and threats related to the spread of artificial intelligence, and the prospects for Polish-German and Polish-Saxon cooperation in both the European and regional contexts.
Prime Minister Kretschmer stressed the importance of Polish-German contacts for the scientific and research development of Central and Eastern European countries. Deputy Minister Szeptycki, meanwhile, pointed to the importance of Polish-German cooperation for the reconstruction and development of scientific, research and academic infrastructure in war-affected Ukraine. On behalf of the Minister of Science and the ministry, he expressed a message of best wishes to the guests on the occasion of German Unity Day, which falls on October 3.
