Brussels hosted an information seminar entitled “Support mechanisms for Polish universities in obtaining funds from EU research programs”. The event was held under the honorary patronage of the Minister of Science. The meeting was attended by Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, Maciej Gdula, and Prof. Patrycja Matusz, Plenipotentiary of the Minister of Science for European Affairs and the Presidency of the Republic of Poland in the Council of the European Union.

Support mechanisms for Polish universities in obtaining funds from EU research programs

The seminar brought together rectors, pro-rectors and representatives of Polish universities. Its main purpose was to familiarize the new term of authorities of Polish universities, responsible for science and development, with the opportunities to obtain funds from EU research programs. Participants had the opportunity to learn how to more effectively implement tasks in areas such as innovation, research and development, cooperation between science and industry, digital transformation, green economy and personnel development.

Challenges of Polish universities in obtaining funds from EU research programs

The seminar was devoted to topics related to the challenges of Polish universities in obtaining funds from European Union research programs and Poland’s role in shaping EU science policy. The topics of discussion included priorities in the areas of research and innovation as well as opportunities for the Polish scientific community to assert itself in the context of Poland’s presidency of the Council of the European Union in 2025. It also included the presentation of good practices in research and development projects, cooperation between universities and industry, and effective methods of obtaining EU funds for internationalization of research and development.

The seminar was organized by the Perspektywy Educational Foundation and the Office for the Promotion of Science “PolSCA” of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Brussels.
