A unique meeting was held at the Ministry of Science and Higher Education. Minister Dariusz Wieczorek personally congratulated Mikołaj Wolanin – one of the ten finalists of the prestigious Global Student Prize competition. During the conversation, the head of the ministry expressed his appreciation for the impressive achievements of the young scientist and wished him success in his further academic and professional career.

Mikołaj Wolanin – the hope of Polish science

Mikołaj Wolanin – a law student at the University of Warsaw and canon law student at Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University – is an exceptional figure. At only 22 years old, he can boast achievements that put him among the best students in the world. He made it to the final ten of the Global Student Prize, a prestigious competition organized by the Varkey Foundation and Chegg.org.

It is worth mentioning that he is the only European to be granted this distinction this year. This success highlights not only the exceptional abilities of the young Pole, but also his contribution to science and social activities.

Spectacular scientific achievements

Mikołaj Wolanin has been passionately pursuing his scientific career for years, which has resulted in impressive results. He already has 14 scientific publications to his credit, including two monographs, as well as 30 papers delivered at conferences, 12 of which were held abroad. Not only does the young scientist stand out among his peers for his knowledge and commitment, but he has also been actively involved in academic and social life for years. While still a high school student, he won the titles of laureate and finalist in 13 national Olympiads, which gave rise to his further successes.

Social leader and scientist in one

Wolanin is also the initiator and president of the Foundation for Students’ Rights. He also serves as chairman of the Main Committee of the Student Rights Knowledge Olympiad, which has been gaining popularity among the youth. His involvement in social activities, especially for the rights of young people, is a testament to his broad horizons and deep sense of social responsibility.

Successes on the international stage

Our hero gained valuable experience during scientific internships at prestigious research centers, such as the University of Verona and the Max Planck Institute in Heidelberg. His work and commitment to science and helping others have been recognized internationally. Back in 2020, he was nominated for the International Children’s Peace Prize, which further confirms his versatile talents and social sensitivity.

During the meeting with Mikołaj Wolanin, Minister Dariusz Wieczorek expressed great appreciation for the student’s success.

“We are extremely proud that we have such talented young people in Poland who represent our country internationally. Your achievements are not only a source of pride, but also an inspiration for the younger generation. I am convinced that you have a great future ahead of you,” said the head of the Ministry of Science. “For now, we keep our fingers crossed for victory in the September finals of the competition!” Minister Wieczorek added.

Ambitious plans for the future

Mikołaj Wolanin does not intend to stop with his current academic and social activities. After graduation, he plans to continue his studies in doctoral school, and then combine his academic career with work in public administration. His past successes and perseverance will certainly help him realize his boldest ambitions.

The meeting at the Ministry of Science is a symbolic recognition of young talents who can make a significant contribution to Polish science and society in the future.
