At the beginning of June, the Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Policy announced another competition for acquiring partners for the Large Family Card Programme. Once again, the “Three Plus” Association of Large Families has won the competition. On Wednesday, the Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Policy signed a cooperation agreement with the non-governmental organization.

Considering our experience from the previous years, the Association of Large Families is doing a great job. Today, discounts are offered by over 5.8 thousand companies and institutions in 23.5 thousand locations. In 2014, the Large Family Card was only recognised by 500 partners in 5 thousand locations - says the Minister of Family, Labour and Social Policy, Bożena Borys-Szopa. Between 2015-2016, Voivodship Offices were responsible for attracting partners for the Large Family Card.

The Head of the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy stresses that the support of the “Three Plus” Association of Large Families made it possible not only to expand the number of partners offering discounts, but also to obtain discounts in the sectors which were underrepresented in the programme. These sectors include education, clothing, food and utilities (gas, electricity, equipment). It was also possible to extend the programme to regions which suffered from a lack of offers under the BFC, i.e. Lubuskie, Opolskie, Podlaskie and Zachodniopomorskie Voivodships. In 2017, the number of BFC partners already increased to 3.5 thousand and the number of places offering discounts increased to 15 thousand.

- Unfortunately, until the end of 2018 as many as 927 municipalities, i.e. 39% of municipalities in Poland, did not have a single partner offering discounts under the BFC. These included mainly small municipalities of up to 5,000 or 10,000 inhabitants. Now it is our priority to reach the residents of smaller towns and villages with discount offers as part of the Card. Therefore, we are planning to reward not entire voivodships, but rather focus on municipalities with up to 10,000 inhabitants - says Minister Bożena Borys-Szopa.

Polish citizens are increasingly eager to use Large Family Card

Today, over 825,000 families participate in the Large Family Card. That group includes 290,000 families which have ever had at least 3 children. 2.74 million people hold the traditional Card today, including 1.41 million parents (including 444.8 thousand parents or spouses of parents who applied for the Card on the basis of the system in force since 1 January 2019) and 1.33 million children. 572.9 thousand people - 314.1 thousand parents and 258.8 thousand children - have an electronic version of the Card.

Discounts are offered by over 5.8 thousand companies and institutions in 23.5 thousand locations.

The Large Family Card is a system of discounts and additional rights granted to families by public institutions as well as private businesses. The discounts are offered for railway transportation, free admission to national parks, lower passport fees, as well as discounts on food, clothes, shoes, cosmetic products, books and petrol.
