Polish-Hungarian talks

On 7 June 2017, Minister Elżbieta Rafalska, along with Deputy Minister Stanisław Szwed and Deputy Minister Marcin Zieleniecki, met with representatives of the Social Policy Committee of the National Assembly of Hungary, headed by the Chair of the Committee, Gabriella Selmeczi. 

The subject of talks was the possibility of developing Polish-Hungarian cooperation at various levels. During the meeting, the parties also talked about measures in the field of family policy and the labour market.

 

Minister Rafalska emphasised the importance of the Family 500+ programme, adopted within the first hundred days of the government. Chair Selmeczi drew the attention to the need to separate family policy and social policy. She pointed to measures aimed at increasing employment in Hungary, including through development of vocational education and payment of unemployment benefits. They also talked about the challenges of functioning of the pension system and the necessary reforms in this area.
