PLN 3.1 billion for the For Life Programme

Deputy Prime Minister Beata Szydło, Minister of Family, Labour and Social Policy Elżbieta Rafalska and Secretary of State, Government Plenipotentiary for Disabled People Krzysztof Michałkiewicz took part in the event summarizing public consultations on the changes in the legal system for implementing For Life Programme.

For Life Programme is unique. No programme was created in such special circumstances, with such strong sense of mission pursued in order to show that Polish state supports all citizens but especially those who are in more difficult situation and require care said Deputy Prime Minister.

For the first time we looked at social policy as an important investment, investment that is not a cost or expense said Minister Rafalska. And reported that 24.5 thousand new care facilities may be created this year while 56 thousand already existing facilities will be funded, including almost 640 facilities for children with disabilities.

First stage of the For Life Programme includes among others support for families with a disabled child, strengthening the role of family assistants, sheltered housing and new health policy programme. Second stage will include among others support for former participants of occupational therapy workshops, the extension of the right to care allowance from 14 to 30 days and supporting employment of disabled people.
